Paintings

I started painting at age 14 and sold five paintings at age 16. I consider that the beginning of my life long affair with fine art. After all, getting paid for something you enjoy doing is always exhilarating. Through books, I learned of the fine art produced over the history of humankind. I particularly liked the work of Klee, Kandinsky and Monet. A few years later, I discovered the worlds of Ernst, Magritte and Pollock. These early influences, as well as the input of my teachers and professors, formed the type of work I produce today.
Painting is my first love. The continuity with the past that painting provides is a time honored expression of the soul. It is a freedom, which is expressed from within and is not confined by logic or science. It is my belief that although much ground has been covered, in painting, there is still a mental challenge to create new worlds of awe and wonder. I hope that the viewer will find my work intellectually stimulating and challenging as links in this time honored art.
